The answers
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Montgomery, IL and build across the Fox Valley and Chicagoland — Montgomery, Oswego, Naperville, Chicago, and the surrounding suburbs within roughly a 25-mile radius. If you are just outside that, call and ask; we have travelled further for the right project.
What kind of work do you take on?
Four things, done properly, all of them inside the house: kitchens, bathrooms, finished basements, and custom built-ins. That ranges from a single new island or a fireplace surround to a full reimagination of a room — and, in basements, whole additional bedrooms, bathrooms, bars, wine cellars, and media rooms. We do not take on outdoor work.
Do you repair, refinish or assemble furniture?
No. REIJ builds fixed carpentry that becomes part of the house — kitchen cabinetry, vanities, built-ins, and millwork. We do not repair, refinish, restore, or assemble free-standing furniture of any kind, and we cannot take those jobs on.
Do you build decks, patios, pergolas or fences?
No. All of our work is interior. We do not take on decks, patios, pergolas, fences, siding, roofing, gutters, exterior painting, concrete, or any other outdoor project.
Do you do small handyman repairs?
No. Our projects are full rooms and custom installations — a kitchen, a bathroom, a basement, a wall of built-ins. For small repairs around the house, a handyman service will serve you better and faster.
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. REIJ Inc. is a licensed and insured Illinois contractor based in Montgomery, building in the Fox Valley and Chicago area since 2002.
Do you charge for an estimate?
No. The in-home consultation is free. We come out, look at the space, talk through what you have in mind, and only then prepare a quote — no fee and no obligation to proceed.
How long have you been in business?
Since 2002 — more than two decades and over 100 homes transformed. Much of our work is repeat business; we are now building for the third generation of some of the families we started with.
What does working with you actually look like?
Four stages. We listen first — your home and how you live in it, no quotes and no pressure. Then we design, laying out materials, dimensions, and finishes so you can picture the room before a single cut is made. Then we build. Finally we walk the finished space with you.
Do you speak Lithuanian?
Yes — we work in both English and Lithuanian, whichever you would rather discuss your project in.
